Sorting

What is Sorting?
Before discussing the sorting machine, it is important to understand the term “sorting.” Sorting comes from the English word sort, meaning “categorizing” or “arranging,” and refers to the process of classifying and separating products based on various parameters. This separation is usually carried out according to factors such as size and dimensions, appearance, color, structure, and more.

Unfortunately, there is a common misconception among some people that if they buy a sorted product with proper packaging, its higher price is only due to the packaging. However, this belief is a major mistake. By performing the sorting process, products become completely uniform and healthy, ensuring no defects or spoilage. In contrast, bulk purchases cannot guarantee a completely uniform product and often contain some impurities or lower-quality items.

Citrus Sorting Machine
One of the most important types of sorting machines is the citrus sorting machine. This machine is used to separate and classify citrus fruits. A key feature that sorting machines for citrus and other fruits should have is the ability to wash the products before sorting.

After washing, the machine begins the sorting process based on color, size, and appearance. This ensures that damaged, unhealthy, or blemished products are separated from high-quality ones, leaving all products uniformly ready for packaging. Some sorting machines are even equipped with packaging units, so after sorting, the products are packaged according to the appropriate weight.

Conclusion
Sorting is a multi-stage process for arranging, unifying, separating, and categorizing items of a product based on color, shape, size, and texture. This process is also referred to as “sort” or “sorting.” Sorting is carried out using an electromechanical device known as a sorter.
